I don't live in the area, but I absolutely cannot wait to come back. Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, and friendly staff.

The staff is great. The food is outstanding. The portions are more than one would want, but will eat. The ambiance is good depending upon where you sit. Try to sit away from a speaker that is playing music.

The Hideout is a hidden gem! Literally eating in a home transformed into a restaurant. It really is the definition of homey vibes. Salad was a large portion (next time I might ask for extra dressing), my fave was the ahi tuna app - won ton chips are delicious. Great flavors and friendly staff and they are efficient and work hard. You def feel like this is a "local" type of spot. Will definitely come again.

We have dinner here every year during our pre-Christmas Eve vacation in Aptos, and it's always a highlight for our family. The kids and adults love the food and the welcoming atmosphere. Even the hour-long wait for our table feels enjoyable as we relax around the fire pit with our favorite drinks--it makes the time fly by. The food is consistently excellent, and we highly recommend this spot. Don't miss the Oreo bread pudding for dessert--it's a family favorite and the perfect way to end the meal!

First off, I like that they have a nice outdoor patio so it's perfect meals after a day at the beach, and they have quite an offering for lunches. When I come across a good looking menu, I always find it hard to pick one thing I want to eat. Thankfully I had my sister there with me who generally has the same taste in food, so we were able to share the two items that we were both eyeing. 1) Seafood Cioppino scallops, clams. mussels, prawns, fresh fish, roasted tomato-herb broth, bread & butter (34) 2) Sesame Seared Ahi field greens, soba noodles, sashimi-grade ahi, roasted peanuts, sweet peppers, radishes, pickled ginger, honey-soy ginger dressing (25) The seared ahi salad is one of my favorites and the ahi tuna is so fresh. The combination is honestly one of the best I've had. The seafood cioppino was also delicious and they were very generous with the cioppino. None of the seafood was overcooked and the sauce was perfect. The portions were generous, and the staff here was very nice and even offered to split the dishes into two portions when they overheard that we were sharing. This is one of my gotos whenever I'm in the area, so if you haven't tried it yet, you ought to.

Great modern indoor/outdoor vibes at this place with attentive and courteous service despite its popularity. Don't be detereed by the parking as there are additionsl lots in the back. We were seated surprisingly quickly with a brief wait for a party of 4 on a Friday night. The Spicy Hibiscus Margarita and Bourbon Bramble, Shirley Temple and Strawberry Lemonade arrived efficiently and were a great warm up to dinner. We started with Ahi Poke Tower, Truffle Fries and Smoked Gouda Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon. The Ahi was generous and perfectly presented with cubes of Ahi delicately balance among sliced beets, and cucumber which paired amazingly well. The accompanying fried wontons were a delicious treat. The mac and cheese was ooooh so comforting and the smoked gouda made it truly stand out. We had the Roasted Beet Salad, Iceberg Wedge with Spicy Candied Bacon, Chicken Pesto Alfredo and Half Herb Roasted Chicken with apricot ginger glaze. The Beet Salad was slightly disappointing as the beet pieces were had to find in the overly dressed salad! The spicy candied bacon was a standout in the Wedge, definitely made the dish. The chicken was slightly dry bit the apricot ginger glaze was deliciously smoked and flavorful, making the dish.

Delicious and dog friendly patio! Came on a weekday and we're seated right away. My dog is a barker and the waitress would walk slowly to our table to avoid the barks which I appreciate. I try my hardest to control my dog but it's nice when the amazing staff has fun with him as well. The food was delicious and tasted really fresh. The chicken wasn't necessary to add to my salad because I was so full after eating some fries. Would recommend sitting outside on a nice day! The weather was great and the seating comfortable.

Updated review: The structure looks awesome after the big fire in 2019. Ordered the Hideout Burger (bacon is pressed into the meat patty). It came with all the trimmings. Also tried the house-made chips. Dang crispy but should have order the fries instead. Service is efficient and spot on and very attentive. Dinner service is a bit noisy. I was seated near the bar area. I should have waited for an outside table. Just a bit quieter. This is my favorite "locals" place.

Been here a couple times and have always had a good experience. Most recently, we went and waited about 15-20 minutes for a table for two. We were sat outside, which is usually lovely but it just so happened to be extremely cold. Not even the heater helped too much. The service was good, our server was very helpful. Our food did take a bit longer than usual to come out. I tried their Caesar salad, Mac & cheese, and their chipotle pork quesadilla. Everything was delicious! The portions are also pretty good, and perfect to share. Parking can be a bit of a hassle to find when it's busy. I definitely recommend this place!
